Hi Robert, thanks for your comment. I can understand why it may sound contradictory because of how we've been socialized for centuries - and after awhile it appears as "Truth."

However, what you are describing is ethnicity - which is valid, interesting and worthy of exploration. Race, on the other hand, was created to establish a hierarchy of human value with whites at the top and Blacks at the bottom - with a host of government-sanctioned laws and activities that reinforced it. Hopefully, we don't need a science degree (education) to understand that all humans are valuable and no one is better than the other and certainly not because of one's complexion.

The first two sentences merely establish the intrinsic value of humanity before we even consider gender, class, ethnicity, religion, looks, geography, etc. Hope this helps.
